It turns out legendary director Steven Spielberg is a gamer and is particularly fond of Call of Duty.
Obviously there were several games based on Spielberg’s work over his many years of filmmaking, so there was always a connection, but I bet, like me, you didn’t know the director either Also likes to play games. His son Max Spielberg recently appeared on MinnMax to talk about his upcoming game Lynked: Banner of the Spark on FuzzyBot (spotted by Kotaku). Apparently his father came up, because when your name is Spielberg and your father is Spielberg, people talk about Spielberg. Max has actually been in the industry for a while, working on games like Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Battlefield 1, and says it was his father’s love of gaming that got him into them.
“He loved games,” Max said of his father. “He’s the one who got me involved. He plays games. He’s a big PC gamer, so that’s where we bonded. He’s like, ‘Hey what’s up,’ ‘What’s new? [shooters?]’, which version of Call of Duty should I play? You know, like ‘Just send me a list of the top five shooters and I’ll download them and we can play them together when you come over to the house. When Black Ops 6 launches later this month, Steven is online and Max explains that “he’s involved in the campaign.”

Steven will apparently never get used to a controller, preferring a keyboard and mouse, Max explains, “He loves story games, and I always try to get him to play Uncharted, and I’m like Indiana Jones, you He would have been grateful and said, “I can’t do the controller, I can only do the keyboard and the mouse. Now at least we know that Steven knows about Uncharted, at least it’s actually Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
If you’re interested in checking out FuzzyBot’s Lynked: Banner of the Spark, the game will be released as an early access version on Steam later this month, October 22nd.
