Hulu shares first photos from upcoming boxing period drama Thousand blowsfrom Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
The series is set in the dangerous world of illegal boxing in 1880s Victorian London and stars Stephen Graham (“Snatch”, “Young Woman and the Sea”) as Sugar Goodson, “an experienced and dangerous boxer.”
These photos were taken by Graham and Malachi Kirby Hezekiah Moscow, “who finds himself thrust from Jamaica into the dynamic and violent furnace of post-industrial London’s East End.”
In the series, “He is drawn into the criminal underbelly of the booming boxing world and meets Mary Carr, who is led by Erin Doherty (crown), leader of the Forty Elephants, a notorious all-female London gang who fight for survival on the streets.
“As Hezekiah honed his new skills, he met Sugar Goodson, played by Graham, an experienced and dangerous boxer, and the two soon became involved in an intense feud. Rivalry, a rivalry that goes far beyond the boxing ring.
The cast also includes Francis Lovehall Playing Hezekiah’s best friend Alec Munro, Jason Tobin As Mr. Lao and james nelson joyce Starring Edward “Molasses” Goodson.
Forty elephants included Hannah Waters Playing Eliza Moody, Darcy Shaw Playing Alice Diamond, Nadia Albina Playing the role of Verity Rose, Morgan Hillel Playing the role of Esmelan, Gemma Carlton Starring Belle Donner and Kyle Dunn Plays Anne Glover.
Additional cast includes Susan Lynch Playing the role of Jane Carr, Daniel Mays Playing William “Punch” Lewis, Adam Nagatis As Earl of Lonsdale, Gary Lewis As Jack Mack, Tom Davis As charlie mitchell and. Robert Glenister As Indigo Jeremy.
A Thousand Blows will premiere on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, Hulu in the US and Disney+ in select other countries in 2025.
