It’s a perfect cross-section, popular enough but obscure enough that just about any collector would consider buying it because basically everyone loves it. The question then becomes how do you do something new? what an artist can do thing Haven’t the other five done it yet?

Petrie worked with Vice and Bottleneck Gallery to create the poster, which will be available for sale Thursday at 1pm ET via this link . Below, we caught up with the artist, who answered some questions about the poster via email.
Germain Lussier, io9: There are many AMPs thing But this one is very unique. How did you come up with this idea?
Anthony Petrie: I always try to explore ideas that are more loosely connected to property. I think it’s ok to be wary of a lot of posters, but thing Since the concept of the movie is so high, I didn’t want to pull away from the obvious (snow, dogs, Kurt Russell, etc.). The practical effects in that movie were so believable and well executed, which is my tribute to that, and how iconic the autopsy scene was.
io9: Does the idea of in vivo posing any design challenges?
Petrie: When there’s a lot of detail and complexity, posters are always too busy and then lose key film elements in the clutter. This is part of the reason why I decided to ditch the detailed background and really focus on the main image. In this case, the creature is the smallest part of the image, but the negative space around it really helps draw your attention to the important parts.
io9: Was it difficult to find where the headers were handled?
Petrie: Title handling is really a sticking point for all parties involved, re: need for branding to be visible, etc. part of. Hide your logo in plain sight. These giant letters are actually hidden behind the human body, peeking out from behind it, making it difficult to see from a distance due to the silhouette, but when you look closely you can see it thing.
Again, Anthony Petrie thing It will be released on Thursday, September 19th at 1pm ET.
