Rejoice, loyal servants of the Emperor! After many years, Star Marine 2 launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on September 9, and the upright and completely non-heretical development team lets us know what to expect in the first year after the game’s release.
In total, the first year of content (dubbed “Battle Plan”) consists of four seasons of content. Season 1 will include a season pass focused purely on cosmetics, as well as a boxing ring and battle barge.
Season 2 gets even more interesting with new PvE missions, pistols, higher difficulty, and new enemies. Season 3 adds even more content, including another PvE mission, a new PvP game mode, another new enemy, and the Battle Barge expansion. Season 4, meanwhile, promises a horde mode and another weapon. Various cosmetic packs will also be released.
“Starfighter 2 has never been closer and we are blown away by your excitement,” the team wrote. “Thank you so much for the enthusiasm you share with us across all platforms! We really can’t wait to read and watch your feedback next week on the culmination of years of work by all of us.
I’d be lying if I said this Battle Plan did more than dampen my excitement for Starfighter 2 a little bit, but that’s purely personal: a wall of post-launch content like this is a stark reminder that I don’t like Modern game.
Other than that, I can’t wait to take control of Titus again and screw some shit up in the Emperor’s name!
