Web3 Strategy MMO Star Atlas has launched Holosim, a free version of its popular Sage Labs browser game as a test bed for new features.
The gameplay debuted on June 4th, the same as Sage Labs – same as factions, manage your fleet and complete contracts to rule the stars – although there is no Web3 feature. This provides a new player with a free way to try the game before entering the real experience and allows current players to taste the features that will launch the main game in the near future.
The development features currently used in Holosim include combat updates, Sage AI assistants, mission systems, and more.

What is Star Atlas?
Star Atlas is the upcoming large-scale strategic MMO Web3 game that builds on Solana and offers pre-PC Alpha on PC via the Epic Games store.
Inspired by Eve Online and the likes of celebrity citizens, players built ships in space and assembled crew members to travel across stars, explore planets, mining resources and craft a range of items and structures.
HoloSim is a brand new free-to-play Web2 version of its popular Web3 Sage Labs browser title, and is a companion to the main game. Players complete contracts with one of the three factions and assist in conquering the galaxy.
At the heart of the celebrity Atlas ecosystem is a community-driven economy. Star Atlas uses Solana as the backbone of this ecosystem designed by real economists and is powered by $ATLAS tokens. As of this writing, $Atlas has a market cap of more than $21 million and its full dilution value exceeds $43.3 million.

What do I expect from Holosim?
Holosim is not only a way for new players to enjoy the Star Atlas experience freely—it is also a test site for new features, with the aim of fine-tuning these ideas before adding them to Sage Labs.
There are currently five key functions in Holosim:
- Battle Update: Now players can jump into battle and participate in battle with their opponents – now any ship you lose is lost forever
- Task system: Provide players with new daily tasks, storyline tasks and other tasks with diverse rewards
- Sage AI Assistant: Helping in any and every aspect of Star Atlas – perfect for new players
- Route Manager: Automation tools to simplify fleet management to make games faster and easier to control
- New tutorial: Allow new players to grow rapidly with the world of Star Atlas and Core Game Mechinics
Over time, more experimental features will be added before Sage Labs is released. As of the time of writing, we haven’t seen ETA, and when some of the development features might appear in major games.
