Netflix releases first trailer for highly anticipated season 2 squid gamereunites us with Emmy Award winner Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun – the creator of the dangerous survival game of the same name, Gamer 456.
Season 2 will see our victorious, haunted winner return to the bloody arena three years later as one of a new batch of participants eager to win life-changing cash prizes. In the 45-second trailer, we not only see Ki-hoon wearing a green jumpsuit, but we also see him holding a gun to the game’s masked supervisor lead singer (played by Lee Byung-hun).
Aside from the return of the pink jumpsuit guards, we don’t quite know exactly what deadly games are planned for participants this time around – there are only flashes. One moment involves a disco-lit room and an overhead shot of a bare rectangular arena with a large tree at one end. In the final frame, it looks like the contestants will be split into two groups, surrounded by a rainbow on the floor. What are we here for?
squid game Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on December 26th.
