Adding combat assistance is great for anyone who needs a boost of accessibility or for new players. That’s why their lack of explanation is puzzling. It’s easy to understand their purpose, but not so simple to figure out how they work. Here’s our detailed explanation of what each combat support setting does and how to change them.
How to adjust combat assist settings
You can freely toggle between the various combat assistance options by entering the options menu and scrolling down to Accessibility. There are a lot of things that need to be modified here, but most of them are different accessibility features. You can adjust each item individually or use preset configurations.
- Off – All combat aids are turned off
- Automatic – every combat aid is turned on
- Semi-automatic – only protection and recovery assistance enabled
- Custom – you choose what works and what doesn’t
Remember, the options menu is only accessible outside of a match. It can be used while browsing all main menus, and even in the character select screen before entering training. Once you enter an actual battle, you will no longer have access to this menu and related settings.
