As the PlayStation 5’s fourth anniversary approaches, Sony’s platform team is continuing to work on new small improvements to help players get the most out of the console. The latest batch of changes we’ll be testing soon are pretty niche, but still pretty cool.
The first new feature is D audio profiles for headphones and earbuds, which will enter early testing starting on July 25. The console will allow players to save customized settings based on what sounds best to them and certain games, rather than needing to adjust settings each time. When you play multiplayer shooters versus moody horror games, maybe you need a different set of adjustments.
“For example, your personalized 3D audio profile can allow you to perceive the position of characters and objects in the game world more clearly than before, making the experience more immersive,” said Hiromi Wakai, vice president of product management at Sony. wrote Today on the PlayStation Blog.
Customized remote playback settings are also about to enter testing. This will let players authorize which friend and family member accounts have access to their console in order to stream content to their phone, laptop or PlayStation Portal. I’m now interested in seeing how far I can go with the game on a friend’s console five miles away. These two new setting options are available on all PS5 models.
However, Sony’s so-called adaptive charging feature for DualSense controllers and other peripherals is only available on the new ultra-thin PS5 model released last year. This feature saves power by only charging the connected controller when the battery is low, rather than keeping the USB port powered when the device is fully charged.
While most users will have to wait until these features go live in an official update to try them out, everyone can give them a try PS5 latest firmware version released today. Players can now ask their console to show them a game’s in-game help without having to find it on the home screen. They can also share links to game sessions via QR codes. I can’t wait to invite everyone I know to play bubble star with me.
