PlayStation just announced a special live stream for tomorrow, and there won’t be any other live streams besides PS5 Pro, right?
It feels like almost since the PS5 was announced there have been rumors about a PS5 Pro, which isn’t entirely surprising considering the PS4 Pro. But Sony hasn’t said anything about such a thing, even though we’ve all known it was definitely coming for a while. With PlayStation announcing a PlayStation 5 tech demo hosted by PS4 and PS5 architect Mark Cerny, it’s really impossible to reveal anything other than a PS5 Pro, right?

Like, that had to be it, especially considering the briefing was nine minutes long. I’m not going to watch you talk about the new controller for nine minutes, Mark, so you better have something interesting. Plus, as part of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary celebrations, a new art almost certainly teases the PS5 Pro’s design (it also comes with a playlist featuring, uh, Livin La Vida Loca, so you’d have to wonder about it will appear).

The livestream will air on the PlayStation YouTube channel at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST, so it’s a bit early for those on the US West Coast. There are more details on the PlayStation blog, but what it really tells us is that it will be “focused on innovation in PS5 and gaming technology.” The innovation part is where I wonder if there’s something else out there for PlayStation, although I’m not planning on investing any money in it either.
There’s obviously also the issue of cost, with the standard PS5 priced at $500, we’re probably looking at $600+, so this is definitely a luxury item. But hey, considering all the games the PS5 has, I’m sure it’s totally worth it, right? Correct?
