Minnesota Governor and Democratic Vice Presidential Nomination Tim Waltz Apparently he loved his Sega Dreamcast at the time. He reportedly played Crazy Taxi. So of course someone decided to convert the Walz into Crazy Taxi.
Maybe you’re living under a rock, or you’re new to the Internet today and don’t know about Tim Walz and his Dreamcast. ok if i were you I’ll click on this link and read our great explanation The entire Walz Dreamcast saga. But the short version is that we recently learned that the possible future Vice President once owned a Dreamcast and played with it so much that his wife had to hide it from him. He later gave the Dreamcast to someone, and it ended up in the hands of a ResetEra user who suggested Walz was a Crazy Taxi player. Now, as a fitting end to this strange saga, Waltz is a playable character in Star Wars. Crazy Taxi.
It is reported MPR Newsvideo game developer Edward La Barbera created a mod that adds Walz (and Kamala Harris) to Crazy Taxi. Here are some snippets of the mod in action:
La Barbera decided to add Walz to the game after reading an article online about his Dreamcast. “I thought it would be a fun tribute, like Bill Clinton in the arcade game NBA Jam Contest“, LaBarbera told MPR News.
Game developers learned how to modify Dreamcast games, then reportedly spent a week putting the mods together. He also added snow-covered trees and Minnesota landmarks to the game’s map. Clips of Walz’s speech are also included in the mod, allowing the vice presidential nominee to say a few words (e.g. Crazy Taxi Drivers usually do this) while driving like a maniac.
“I chose a more Minnesota-casual flannel outfit for Tim because it was easier to make than a suit,” LaBarbera explains. “Basically, I had to use the original character model, which had a jacket/undershirt look.”
To actually play this mod, you need to set up a Dreamcast emulator and Crazy Taxi document. La Barbera admits it’s not easy to set up, so the modder uploaded more videos of Walz’s mod in action on YouTube so we can watch him pick up the car and give it away. Plus, yes, 2024 is a weird election year, isn’t it?
