Oz in a all Very troublesome!
Penguin Season 1 Episode 4 gives us an in-depth look at Sophia’s backstory – how she came to Arkham, the horrors she endured, and the shocking truth about The Hangman.
But despite all the craziness, the real highlight? The full story of what happened in that alley after Nadia showed up. Let me tell you, Oz is done.
He showed his true colors, past and present. Surprisingly, surprisingly, Oz only cares about himself and has zero honor.
I shouldn’t have been shocked, but wow, it was worse than I thought. Sofia giving him a second chance after everything? Seriously?
Saying “Hell has no fury more than a woman who is scorned” is not even start When it comes to Sophia, that’s got it covered.
She is on the road to war and all men who stand against her are doomed. Well, they’re almost there.
Unfortunately for Oz, after everything he’s put her through (and it’s all on him), he’s about to get the most painful payback Sofia can imagine.
As for Vic, he really should get on that bus with his girlfriend to save himself grief, because as I mentioned before, nothing good will come of an alliance with Ozzy.
show no mercy
I’ll say this from the beginning: If things get messy, Oz will not hesitate to throw Vic under the revenge bus driven by Sofia.
But it’s still possible that Sofia could show him some mercy, especially if she knew the truth. She’s not out to punish the innocent; we see that with Gia.
This could be the moment Vic decides to turn on Oz and reveal everything, including things Sofia doesn’t know about.
Since she didn’t let Gia die along with the others, maybe Vic will get a pass too. Heck, Sofia might even send Vic and Gia to California to live a quiet life with his girlfriend.
There are many ways to achieve this goal.
The problem is that Oz has zero empathy. He’s a liar, a manipulator, and an all-around bad guy.
Even though we haven’t seen his full backstory, I can’t imagine it being any worse than what Sofia went through.
In fact, I’m starting to believe that if his brother is really dead, maybe he is The man who killed them all just to get his mother’s full attention
There is no doubt that he loves his mother, but what if he is responsible for her mental state – just like he is responsible for Sophia’s?
Of course, this is all just speculation, but maybe his desire to protect his mother stems more from guilt than true love.
real problem
Now, the real question is Sophia’s compassion. She is an “innocent,” which makes her vulnerable.
While I’m 100% on board with Sofia Falcone’s train, this part of her may be her downfall.
Despite her mission for revenge, we see her ability to exercise restraint; she doesn’t lash out at everyone responsible for her being sent to Arkham.
There’s a big difference between punching someone in the head and killing them with poison gas.
She was furious when she killed the girl in Arkham. Although she was angry when she showed up at Luca’s dinner party, the way she chose to end all of their lives was telling.
Maybe she chose this path because it was the easiest way to get rid of them all in one fell swoop. I can’t imagine her gassing them because she didn’t want them to suffer.
Or maybe she did it because of Gia?
But when it comes to Oz, if she’s going to kill him, she’ll need to tap into that deep rage again, like she did in Arkham.
If she hesitates to confront Oz because of Vic, it’s game over for Sofia. I don’t want this to happen, but it’s possible.
Full of anger!
Let’s face it: Sophia is Penguin’s only true antihero. While some may view her as a victim, she is best described as a survivor.
After everything she’s been through, can you really blame her for her behavior? It’s hard not to sympathize with her and root for her.
I hope she has zero mercy for Oz after everything she’s been through. He deserved the worst she could do – and boy, did she have some anger to unleash!
But she’ll have to keep that compassion in check if she wants to survive Oz’s battle.
Sofia loved Oz even though she was mean to him when he worked for her. Maybe Oz still remembers the cruelty she sometimes showed towards him.
But let’s not forget – he betrayed her to her father!
As far as we know, he was unaware that Carmine was planning to break with tradition and she Run a family business. That’s huge!
We don’t know if Carmine told anyone else about his plan, specifically Luca or Johnny Vitti. This makes sense considering the letter they wrote leaving Sophia in Arkham.
It could be that Carmine ordered them to do this, but maybe another reason they did it was to lock her up so she wouldn’t try to take over the family.
It’s a tangled web. From the looks on their faces, Falcone’s men clearly knew he killed Sofia’s mother and all the other victims; they just kept their mouths shut like good soldiers.
It’s also possible that Luca and Johnny planned to kill Alberto themselves, but Oz did it for them without knowing it.
Betrayal and revenge
One of the most striking moments is when Sofia names all the victims at the dinner table. The expressions on their faces, especially Vitti’s, are priceless.
If anyone knew what the hell Carmine was doing, it was him. That’s probably why Sofia lets him live – she thinks he’s just as bad as her father, if not worse – and has a special treat in store for him.
But I’m sure she’ll keep him around to help track Oz down, too. Once he’s no longer useful, his game will be over – if Sophia survives long enough.
It’s not out of the question that Vitti and Oz could team up to fight Sofia, just like Sofia might ally with Nadia to take down Oz.
I couldn’t believe it when Oz pleaded with Nadia in front of Sofia! The look on Sophia’s face said it all.
While Nadia’s devotion to her husband is unquestionable, it’s possible that Sofia could team up with Maronis, especially with “Bliss.”
It’s a risky move, but it all depends on how Sofia ends up – does she want to rule the Falcone Empire, or is revenge her only goal?
I believe she originally planned to run the family business with her brother, but that dream was dashed when Oz killed him.
There are a lot of moving parts here.
The mysterious Dr. Rush
The other big question is what Sophia has planned for Dr. Julian Rush. Although she blamed him for what happened to her in Arkham, he did help to free her. Did he have a relationship with Bliss before he left Arkham? It’s not clear yet.
Rush definitely has an ulterior motive for Sophia. She’s probably right that he loved her, but I think he played a bigger role in her life than we realize.
After all, he was the one she turned to for help after the chaos in the alley. There is something deeper there.
One thing is for sure: Sofia deserves revenge on all those who wronged her.
She’s been through so much – from finding out her mother died, to being betrayed by her father, the rest of the Falcone family, and Oz, to the horrors of Arkham (shock treatment!!!).
Seeing Oz fall will be the ultimate twist – The Penguin is no more! But in the Batman universe, that’s a tough pill to swallow.
Whether Sofia will survive and take him out remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: the showdown has only just begun.
Over to you, TV fanatics!
What do you think is next for Sophia? Will she find a way to defeat Oz, or will Vic end up ruining her plans?
Do you think Sofia has a chance at ruling the Falcone Empire? What about Dr. Rush?
