Durance guest stars as Emma O’Brea, whose husband goes missing and spoilers hint the case gets complicated. Cassandra is torn between her old friend (as secrets emerge) and helping Carl solve the case.
It’s shaping up to be another big week as Erica Durance’s storyline is also featured in several promos, thus bringing in even more fans.
She and Christine haven’t acted together in about 15 years.
In addition to this exciting reunion and interesting case, several spoiler photos hint that Cassandra and Carl’s relationship is picking up steam and that she meets his daughter.
‘Smallville’ actresses reunite to play childhood friends
We’ve been waiting for the Smallville reunion ever since the official trailer for Smallville was released.
Cassandra (Kristin Kreuk) reunites with old friend Emma O’Brea (Erica Durance) at an arts center fundraiser.
The story begins with a beautiful reunion, but Emma later discovers that her husband Charlie is missing.
She seeks comfort and help from Cassandra, who introduces her to Carl and his team.
Is the scorned wife guilty of murder?
A crime occurred at O’Shea’s residence, but it’s unclear whether he was initially kidnapped or murdered.
If anyone can solve this problem, it’s Carl and his team, as he’s very good at finding clues that others often miss.
Emma O’Brea insists on agents. Everyone loves Albergo her husband Charlie (Toby Levins). If you’ve seen enough police procedurals, that’s a red flag.
Almost everyone has an enemy, and it usually starts at home. The more Carl talks to Emma, the more disturbing secrets are revealed.
Since Charlie is so well-liked, I wonder if he was having an affair, especially since Emma revealed her husband’s secret.
Rarely does a wife point a gun at her husband and emotionally ask why she isn’t good enough for him.
The only other thing is if she learns that Charlie has another life that doesn’t include her and he wants to leave.
This undoubtedly pushed Emma to the edge of the cliff.
However, did she kill him and report him missing? This is an overused trope in a police procedural.
Charlie and his romance may have disappeared, or Emma may have found them before the police did.
It seems this troubling marriage has many secrets.
I can’t wait to find out if this is a common trope or if it’s something as exciting as Gone Girl. Those missing persons cases have twists and turns.
Cassandra is torn between her old friend and Carl
The promo teases that Carl eventually suspects what Emma did to her husband Charlie.
This leaves Cassandra in a dilemma between her childhood friend and her police officer boyfriend. It’s more likely that she knows what her friend is capable of, but would she want to betray her?
As the episode synopsis teases Cassandra and shares some important clues with Carl, she must find something compelling in Emma and Charlie’s marriage.
Hopefully we’ll see Cassandra in investigative mode and become a compassionate friend. We’ve barely seen her in the library since the season premiere, so seeing her as Carl’s only girlfriend has become tedious.
This will certainly be thought-provoking as it will impact Cassandra’s relationship with Emma and her romance with Carl.
How will O’Shea’s marriage affect Cassandra and Carl?
At the end of Small Town Season 1 Episode 3, when Carl nearly dies in a fire, Cassandra finally admits how much she cares about him.
However, will they be put off by seeing one of her old friends’ marriage fall apart?
After being single for so long, she still seemed wary of commitment, and getting serious later in life while balancing career, kids, and relationship fears would be challenging.
I’m glad the two will be focusing on real-life issues and not just the cases between them.
It looks like Cassandra is confident and trusting Karl with the information in the spoiler photos and plot synopsis.
Meet Dad’s New Girlfriend
These spoiler photos tease Carl’s teenage daughter Holly (Dakota Guppy), who’s visiting again. She’s come a long way from the teenager she barely spoke to in the series premiere, but the mood swings of a teenage girl are still there.
Even though Holly is relaxed around Carl, how will she react to meeting Cassandra?
At first, Carl mentioned that his daughters wanted him to run dating ads, but in theory, that’s not the same as meeting someone who’s not your mom.
In the photo, Holly is smiling and hoping Cassandra will put her at ease.
I requested more family scenes with Carl and his daughters, so I’m interested to see how they fit into the scene.
