This is really just an update, as I only discussed Skeleton Crew’s streaming chart in detail earlier this week. But both Nielsen and Luminate released new charts earlier today. Nielsen is in charge of Skeleton Crew Week 2 and Luminate is in charge of Week 6! Luminate has data for episode seven (review will likely be tomorrow, so stay tuned).
What does the chart tell us?
Skeleton Crew did not make the list. The No. 10 entry on the Nielsen rankings has 306 million minutes, and the No. 10 entry on the Luminate rankings has 288.7 minutes. It’s a safe bet that even next week’s final episode won’t make the charts, meaning Skeleton Crew will be the first live-action Star Wars show not to crack the top 10 of streaming charts for original shows Episodes. Not even Marvel has managed this, with Echo already in the top eleven weeks (since all episodes were released in one go, the show wouldn’t be in the top ten otherwise).
It’s now clear that Skeleton Crew was a huge and expensive ratings failure for Disney. Although the show was generally well received. Lucasfilm and Disney should be ringing every possible alarm bell. Even though the first season received very warm and overwhelmingly positive reviews, Andor certainly wasn’t going to take the world by storm.
My advice to them is…rely on what is known to work. Maybe it’s time for a deepfake Luke series. That’s if Disney still wants to make more Star Wars for Disney+ after a series of super-expensive flops. That’s certainly not going to be the case for Ahsoka Season 2 in 2026.
