Remember Tony Hawk? Playing Rage Against The Machine at a post-award party? Well, he just revealed plans to commemorate the original Pro Skater’s 25th birthday, apparently with the help of Activision Blizzard.
Speaking on the YouTube cooking show Mythical Kitchen, which is exactly where you’d expect to find video game news (thanks VGC), Hawke was asked about the Pro Skater series’ upcoming anniversary on September 29th. What is the next step? He also revealed that he and Activision have renewed their talks.

“I wish I could tell you more, but I can tell you that I’m talking to Activision again and it’s really exciting. We’re working on something,” Hawke said over a plate of Chinese food Chicken Salad and Pasta Bolognese at Chateau Marmont Los Angeles.
“This is the first time I’ve said this publicly,” he added, “and I think it’s going to be something that fans will really appreciate.” Hawke also ruled out the idea of contact lenses letting you skate like him, so there you go.

Back in 2022, Hawk claimed that plans for a follow-up game to 2020’s Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 were scrapped when development studio Vicarious Visions merged with Activision Blizzard. “I wish I could say we were doing something, but Vicarious Visions kind of disbanded…” Hawke said at the time. “[Making 3+4 after 1+2]that’s the plan. Even until the release date [1 + 2]we plan to use 3 + 4. Then Vicarious was absorbed, they were looking for other developers, and then… it was over.
“The truth is, they were trying to find someone to do 3+4, but they didn’t really trust anyone like they did with Vicarious,” Birdfellow continued, “so they took advice from other studios, like, ‘Would you use What does a THPS title do? They don’t like what they hear, and that’s it.
