Warner Bros. has finally released the first full trailer for Joker: Pas de Deux , seemingly finally acknowledging that it’s a musical.
As early as April, the first trailer for “Joker 2” (also known as “Joker: Pas de Deux”) was released, giving everyone the first look at Lady Gaga’s interpretation of Harley Quinn and hinting at its musical nature , despite previous reports claiming it wasn’t the case. Well, Warner Bros. released the first full trailer today, and Joaquin Phoenix does sing a large part in it, so it does seem like these musical accusations are accurate (for context, a lot of movies don’t promote their own music drama because it is said to turn off some viewers). You can check out the trailer for yourself below to decide if you think it’ll go the full musical route.

The trailer’s description explains, “Joker Benefit finds Arthur Fleck incarcerated in Arkham Asylum, awaiting trial for the crimes of the Joker. While grappling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon I don’t know about you, but it sounds like a musical, but if it was, it would look like a jukebox musical. , a musical that uses real-world songs rather than numbers written specifically for the show.

It also offers the first look at prison officer Brendan Glesson, who guarded Arthur Fleck (aka the Joker) during his time at Arkham Asylum. Unsurprisingly, the whole thing looks pretty dramatic, because in addition to all the singing (which does include a bit from Gaga), there’s also plenty of dancing – and even more importantly, it seems like there’ll be more than enough of violence and riots. It already has it all!
You don’t have much time to watch it either, because in a few months, on October 2, Joker: Folie À Deux will be released in cinemas.
