When asked about the show’s possible future, Vertue told Deadline: “We always say never say never. I still have the show stored away somewhere and, to be honest, it’s probably rotten. It just makes it so. Everyone is on the same page and it makes the actors want to do it.
“We love this show and it has a future. One day. Maybe. If everyone wants to do it.”
Mark GatissHe, who co-created the show with Steven Moffat, has previously teased that it might one day be turned into a movie, saying: “We want to make a movie but we want to bring everyone together Very difficult. [Cumberbatch] and martin [Freeman]”.
A few years ago, Moffat said he was ready to move on to series five, saying he would “start writing” shylock tomorrow” if the actors agree to come back. He then asked them to come back, saying: “They’re on to bigger and better things, but Martin and Benedict, ‘please come back?'”
Moffat seems to have a story for season five that he’s very excited and happy about. Moffat continued: “It’s quite exciting that Mark (played by Gatiss) And I, for no particular reason, just started planning what we could do in the future.
“We mapped out all of Season 4 and Season 5. I think the ideas we had that day were the best we’ve ever had. So we had plans – but our plans tended not to be ‘let’s blow up the world or let’s rip the world off’ The most famous casting,” but rather “What exciting twists can we add to this? “I think we have some cookies!”
It would be nice to see Cumberbatch and Martin return for at least one more Sherlock adventure. It’s nice to know that some people involved with the series haven’t given up on a possible return.
