    Setting boundaries at work: 10 strategies for planners

    1. If you are short, your company will not provide you with resources, please do not work as a three-person job. It only proves that they can do it all.
    1. Learn to refuse: “No, we can’t do anything.” “No, we don’t have bandwidth.” “No, we can’t be an exception because the deadline has passed.”
    2. If you are unable to hire additional employees, be sure to hire temporary workers. Companies such as Gagan Industry and Soundings specialize in temporary assistance for specific tasks such as website selection or registration.
    3. Turn off notifications on your phone. You know you will receive an email at night and don’t need to keep reminding you.
    1. Calm your mind on your workday. Apps like meditation, long treks, 10 minutes of rest, deep breathing or calming or Mindvalley can help.
    2. Keep a “Kudos” folder on your desktop and add all compliments on your desktop when you need to reset it. Focus on what you feel after the meeting and the positive feedback you get from attendees and clients.
    3. Don’t check emails on vacation, even if it saves you time returning all these messages when you return to the office.
    4. If work is affecting your mental health, consider treatment. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is especially helpful for people to learn to manage emotions and change their responses to work.
