Unlike Hasbro, NECA debuted a ton of new products on preview night. It’s shocking how much I never knew I would need, but after checking out this stall tonight I now have to budget for these things.
The Mirage series is growing rapidly, with a ton of content coming out, including the very cool new April and Karai as Shredder. I also love all these turtle variations. Raph has an eyepatch, which you can’t see in my photo.
I haven’t kept up with The Last Ronin, but I love the new Turtles quartet and the old April characters. It makes me want to read books!
I just watched the Veebs unboxing video on the Robo Don’t Know Youtube channel, Ken Mitchroney, the artist behind the Archie Comics Turtles, unboxed the figures, so while they’re not amazing, they still look pretty awesome in person , I love this posed fight. If you haven’t seen the video yet, I recommend it because it’s great to see the artist react to such a faithful 3D rendition of his artwork. I’m also happy to see Belly Bomb and the others in the box, so they’re getting closer.
The cartoon thread continues to get deeper into the show than I thought it would. Wyrm and Panda Khan (not pictured—Pixel Dan has these photos) never appeared in the show, but the characters seem to fit perfectly.

The Christmas turtles are surprising and I love the accessory of a ball of Christmas lights on Leo. I don’t specifically need black and white generic monster figures, but they look really cool together like this. I love that the box art for the four-pack almost gives them a spooky Mount Rushmore look. I almost just want that piece of art to be a poster. Speaking of horror, today they have a lot of horror-related characters. My bread and butter is Universal Monsters, but a close second is the Hammer Horror movies, so I’m excited to see Christopher Lee Dracula and the amazing Peter Cushing in the role of Van Helsing. It’s also great to see the Ardes Bay character, since Karloff really looks like this to most mummies.
I remember being shocked to see the cost of the Krampus statue, but seeing that giant piece of plastic, I can understand it now. To me, the most shocking thing about this show is the ultimate version of the Sesame Street characters. The poseability and detail on these are lovely. Funny thing is, I passed on the reactions Bert and Ernie for $20 each, but I’d probably pay around $40 each for these.
I’m not a big Iron Maiden fan, but I thought I might need this zombie samurai themed figure.
I love that they are making Ultimate Pee-Wee and Jessica Fletcher looks great. One thing that disappoints me is that Flash Gordon and the Dungeons & Dragons series don’t have any new characters. I need to ask if there will be more later on in the show.
