If you’re low on PlayStation 5 storage, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale includes a great discount on one of the best NVMe SSDs for your PS5: the Samsung 990 Pro. The promotion includes 1TB and 2TB models with pre-installed heatsinks. You can buy the 1TB 990 Pro with a heatsink for $95, or upgrade to 2TB capacity for $133. The 990 Pro is Samsung’s flagship M.2 SSD, so it tends to be popular at major sales events. Technically, these deals will last until tomorrow, October 9th, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see both deals sell out before then.
1TB – $95 (originally $175) | 2TB – $133 (originally $265)

The Samsung 990 Pro is one of the most popular SSDs for PS5 and PC as it offers great performance and is made by a brand known for creating high-end storage solutions. There have been very few NVMe SSD deals this year, so Amazon’s current deals on 1TB and 2TB models are some of the best we’ve seen recently.
The 1TB and 2TB are PS5 ready out of the box as they come with pre-installed heatsinks – which are required for using M.2 SSDs on the console.
With read speeds of up to 7,450 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,900 MB/s, it’s well beyond the requirements of Sony’s consoles, so it’s not hard to see why it’s so popular. PC users can’t go wrong with the 990 Pro either, and you’ll be able to take better advantage of its fast speeds on your PC.
Expanding PS5 storage is a fairly simple process, although it’s not as straightforward as Xbox Series X|S’s plug-and-play expansion cards. If you need help expanding your console’s storage, check out our PS5 SSD installation guide.
