mr robot Creator Sam Esmail Have been developing a battlestar galactica It’s been a reboot at Peacock for a few years, but the project is no longer in development on the streamer.
The project never got official approval, but I’m actually looking forward to seeing it. I’m curious to see what Esmail’s plans are for this series. I think he’s going to come up with some really cool stuff!
The reboot was a passion project for Sam Esmail, and while Peacock will no longer be moving forward with the project, it will be moving to other networks and streaming services, so there’s still a chance for production.
Michael Leslie was hired to write the script for the reboot in 2020, but later left the project in 2021. Derek Symonds Named writer, executive producer and showrunner.
Ronald MooreThe creator of the 2000 series has previously been asked about the new reboot and whether he has any ownership rights in the work.
He responded: “It’s like, gosh, you know what? Like you said, I rebooted and reinvented, or whatever term we want to use so far. I would never begrudge other people doing the same matter.
“Sam Esmail called me personally and said, ‘Hey, you know, I want to do this. Is that okay with you?’ I was like, ‘You don’t really need my permission, but I appreciate it. ! ” It was a lovely call and I wished them the best of luck.
Moore previously explained that he and Esmail discussed the upcoming show and learned that during the conversation, Esmail planned to keep his show in the same universe as Moore’s, rather than starting from scratch.
He said: “Sam called me and he was very nice and he didn’t tell me the story so I don’t know. But he said his plan was that he wasn’t going to start the show over and recast it, but He wanted to do something in the same universe.
“Sam was awesome and I loved Mr. Robot. I was like, you know, ‘You’re an amazing person and an amazing writer, follow God!’
In a previous update on the project, Esmail shared, “I just read a great outline and it’s in great shape. Because the strike is over now – at least the WGA strike is over – —We started developing it again.
Hope this project finds a new home, I want to see this!
