Adapted from the 2018 graphic novel of the same name Simon Stallenhag, power country is a science fiction adventure comedy about a young girl named Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown) attempts to find his missing brother after losing his family. She meets a robot who helps her on her journey.
The film is set in a dystopian version of America in the 1990s, where robots have lost a war with humans. Michelle’s search was accompanied by a man named Keats (Chris Pratt), who sees humanity in robots and has a lot to say about the industrial war complex.
During a panel at New York Comic Con, the Russos explained that the robots were able to appear in this timeline thanks to walt disney. When he engineered them to be as conscious as humans in the 1950s, the machines attempted to advocate for personality, which led to war.
When talking about the making of the film, the Russos said their experience in the Marvel Universe influenced their approach. They were also inspired Robert Zemeckis Filmmaking style from power country Opaque, with large-scale environments. The Russos and Pratt said they treated the film as if it was their last chance to make a film this way, comparing the film’s time jump from the 1950s to the 1990s to 1985 to 2020. time jumps were compared. Back to the future.
Panel viewers were treated to a new trailer and behind-the-scenes footage, in which Pratt and Brown showed off some of the artifacts their characters have found, such as Beanie Babies, Barbie and Cabbage Patch Dolls. HHighlights from the trailer include Stanley Tucci As the main villain; Kehui Spring As one of the supporting characters; Anthony Mackie Voice the robot character Herman as he helps Michelle and Keats navigate the desert landscape before trying to evade capture; and Giancarlo Esposito As Colonel Marshall Bradbury (this may be a reference to Ray Bradbury).

Pratt and Brown shared their insights into the film’s script and behind-the-scenes filming, and Brown brought the puppy to the set to help boost morale. She said during the panel that she was grateful to have a friend like Pratt on set. Platt shared how the script moved him to tears and how the story felt real to him.
That being said, there’s no telling how the movie will perform once it’s released in March. The perfect blend between special effects and CGI was fun to watch, and it was great to see the robots used in the film showcased during the panel. I hope the VFX team will be able to produce high quality work and be paid appropriately after voting to unionize in August, and that their efforts in creating a world where robots and humans coexist will be recognized.
