The layoffs don’t seem to be over yet, as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League developer Rocksteady is reportedly also affected by layoffs.
According to a report from Eurogamer, Rocksteady’s QA department has essentially been cut in half over the past month, with team members reduced from 33 to 15 people. . QA isn’t the only department suffering layoffs, either, although it’s unclear which teams are affected. Apparently, one employee took to social media over the weekend to say they learned of the new situation while on parental leave and were fired.

Speaking to Eurogamer on the condition of anonymity, Rocksteady staff said that with the loss of so much QA staff, including some team members with specialized knowledge, the remaining staff face more work. Some of the employees affected by the layoffs have apparently been with Rocksteady for more than five years. Employees also said that senior management has acknowledged that product quality will be affected after the layoffs. As of now, Rocksteady has not made an official announcement.
Earlier this year, a Bloomberg report explored what went wrong with the development of Suicide Squad, which also claimed that Warner Bros. Games was seeking more collaborations from its studio, meaning layoffs wouldn’t make sense, though now that The mood seems to have changed.
