Rockstar officially confirms Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC – WGB

Red Dead Redemption and the Nightmare of the Dead expansion are finally coming to PC, exactly 14 years after the games were first launched.

There have been plenty of leaks suggesting a port is in development, leaving fans wondering what the hell is taking so long. But now, Rockstar has announced that the Wild West epic will launch on PC on October 29, 2024.

“For the first time in his legendary legacy, John Marston’s beloved journey can be experienced in stunning new detail on PC with Red Dead Redemption and its iconic zombie horror companion story, Nightmare of the Undead ” will be released on PC on October 29th.

The porting work is being handled by Double Eleven, the same team that also developed slightly disappointing PS4 and Nintendo Switch ports last year. Thankfully, the port was greatly improved when the 60fps mode was patched.

The PC port will likely be based on that version of the game, but Double Eleven will also include PC-specific features. 4K resolution, 144hz on compatible hardware, ultrawide and ultrawide, Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.0, DLSS frame generation, adjustable draw distance and more will be included.

Red Dead Redemption will be available on PC on Steam, the Epic Store, and Rockstars’ own store. The price has yet to be confirmed, but I think Rockstar will probably charge the same price as last year’s re-release: £40.
