Robert Downey Jr. He is not a fan of artificial intelligence, and he has made it clear that he will not let anyone in Hollywood use artificial intelligence to copy his likeness, and intends to sue anyone who tries to create an artificial intelligence version of himself, even after his death.
“There are two tracks,” Downey said on a recent episode of “On With Kara Swisher.” “How do I feel about everything that’s going on?
“I feel very little about it because my emotional life is going on, but there’s not a lot of room for it. I don’t envy anyone who’s being overly identified with this new phase of the information age.
When the topic turned to artificial intelligence and whether Iron Man would use artificial intelligence to replicate Tony Stark’s reboot, Downey said:
“I’m not worried about them hijacking my character’s soul. They would never do that to me, with or without me.”
When talking about the future and any other producers trying to bring him back with artificial intelligence, Downey Jr. said: “I want to state here that I intend to sue all future executives.”
After noting that the actor will pass away, Downey said, “But my law firm will still be very active.”
So, we should never expect to see an AI version of Robert Downey Jr., and that’s okay. We don’t really need artificial intelligence versions of popular actors running around in movies.
