The world of The Batman starring Matt Reeves and Rob Pattinson finally has a name, and it could very well be the name of one of your old pals. perhaps. Sort of.

Currently, DC Studios co-executive James Gunn is establishing the new DC Cinematic Universe, which will kick off with Superman next year. However, there are several movies based on DC properties that, despite having no connection to the old or new DCU, are still popular enough to deserve their own sequels. These movies are set in DC’s otherworld, and these projects won’t be connected to the DCU in any way, but are still adapted from some content from the DC library. “Joker 2” will be released later this year, and the story will take place in Gotham City. A little corner of chaos, of course, where a Batman sequel is in the works. However, before these two films are released, the spin-off TV series “Batman” “Penguin” will be released in September this year. Now, director Matt Reeves has a name for his take on Gotham: BECS.

You remember Bex, right? Rebecca, in your science class, you were very close before the incident? Okay, so just like Becs is short for Rebecca, BECS is short for “Batman Epic Crime Saga,” a title Reeves recently shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly . With a name like that, you might think Reeves and his producing partner Dylan Clark would want to launch a whole slew of projects – and you’d be absolutely right. As mentioned before, the expansion of the universe began with Penguin.

Reeves also had roles in the Arkham Asylum series and Gotham P.D., which were ultimately shelved. “When we wrote the movie [The Batman], and I was like, “Hey, you know what? I think we could make some cool shows,” Reeves told Entertainment Weekly. “That’s actually why I wanted to do a deal with Warner Bros.,” Fuse continued, “and they were like, ‘We love what you’re doing, and we want to go the extra mile to get into the main character.'”

Apparently, some elements of “Gotham PD” are also present in “Penguin.” “What’s interesting is that in the movie, the big red herring of the story seems to be who they’re looking for, and the person the Riddler is referring to must be Penguin, some kind of informant. This movie creates a power vacuum, because Penguin is so underrated.” , people didn’t really understand who he was.

Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc also explained that the upcoming series serves as a “bridge” between the first Batman and its sequel, with the Colin Farrell-led series taking on a new role in ” “The Batman” takes place a week after the events of “Almost straight into the second movie” Matt has already planned.

Clark also said that “we’re going to be doing another TV exploration,” explaining that they’re “looking at the whole world as it relates to who Batman is – the adversaries around them, all the crimes that have to be explored within it.” city - and try to figure out the best areas to explore. ” No clarification was provided there, but if you’re a Batman fan, it sounds like you basically have a lot to look forward to.
