Rob Liefeld Still in the war against Marvel.
Liefeld, who performed a PhD-level course in the Bridge Burning, continued to argue with Marvel in a series of tweets.
Man, I can’t get people to record it – but I can tell you based on my DM that comics professionals agree to the train wreckage of the X-Men office. sad. It used to be the gold standard for comic storytelling.
The guys who execute the suite publishing kit top must go – Barkley, Bogat, Gabriel. These guys have no new moves, they spend a lot of time tired and show it. restart. My career has been spread across 7 EICs. See it do better with brighter, more focused thoughts.
Marvel Quotaverse is a crushed publication. There is always a large batch of new #1, life is limited, quickly cancelled. Every month, we are closer to all new #1 each month.
I’m never going to do more work there. unnecessary. No desire. Last summer, they offered me everything. I am very confident to deliver my last page.
Deadpool’s co-creator continues to join another Salvo:
This cannot be emphasized. Don’t move. Nothing new. More tips for customers and retailers to refuse. Derivative ocean. Poor talent management. restart.
Although Liefeld did do some work for Marvel in the recent “Deadpool era”, in February he announced that he was Marvel’s and used the crackdown of Deadpool & Wolverine Premiere as the last straw. Since then, Liefeld has been playing HAM on Marvel on Twitter, and undoubtedly on podcasts as well.

Executive Lefield suggested fired as CEO and BarkleySenior Vice President, Business Affairs and Talent Management David BogartSenior Vice President of Sales and Marketing David Gabriel. It is worth noting that he did not mention the Executive Editor/Senior Deputy Prime Minister of Publication Tom Brevoort – Even though the two have been openly arguing for decades. EIC CB Cebulski can also keep his job. All of these Marvel Poohbahs are twenty years + fixtures for the House of Thoughts, so I doubt they will go anywhere.
My inbox quickly illuminated when Lefeld’s comments circulated. While such an outbreak could be seen as a marketing stunt of the recently released Youngblood Remaster, it could be a small fact that suggests that Marvel needs some new approaches. In recent years, some have commented on “Marvel Discomfort”, and the low rate has upset many creators, including recently Dustin Nguyen’s Salvo, where several creators have been in trouble. Many point out that DC is the clear winner of ComicsPro lately, and Marvel’s announcement is very standard.
Marvel, on the other hand, remains the first publisher, as reported by ICV2:
After a sharp drop in market share to 33.3% in the last quarter of 2024 (see “Marvel Slips, DC Gets Ground”), Marvel Comics returned with a 37.9% stake in Q1 2025, up 4.6 shares. This growth is primarily at the expense of smaller publishers. During the same period, DC Comics’ share fell by only about a half cent, from 26.9% to 25.5%.
All other publishers, except for the image comics, also lost ground, including non-TOP-10 publishers, who as a group dropped to 9.7% to 8.6%. Images rose to 12.1% in Q4 2023 (see “Q4 2024”) and have remained at 12% or above since then.
So it’s hard to ask Marvel to change everything when he’s still the biggest dog in the yard. Two years ago, the narrative of “Marvel Discomfort” took place about two years ago, until it finally started to make things more vivid. In all respects, regular sales are still holding their own sales, so it is difficult for a large reshuffle. Even Marvel’s horrible performances in the bookstore are related to the Premier series and a few other content. This makes me feel sad because we can’t see the 2024 book numbers to see if Marvel improves.
Lifeld doesn’t seem to be putting his axe down soon, as he talks about more feelings in the new Robbery podcast:
New robbery! X-Men is in crisis! The latest year of re-release, with canceled titles and sales dropping, we offer 5 fixes, it’s too late! https://t.co/lyzp2wvnik pic.twitter.com/oevqionhe2

I don’t have time to listen to this, but if you want to see a happier Rob, he looks pretty when we sat down with him a few weeks ago:
