Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: Rise of Hellfire is a prequel comic series by Netflix stranger things Season 4 stars fan-favorite character Eddie Munson!
The four-issue miniseries is written by Jody Houser (Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons, Stranger Things: The Hawkins Story) and Eric Campbell (Dungeons and Dragons Worlds and Realms, Frank Frazetta’s Dawn Raid), drawn by Diego Galindo (Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons, Stranger Things: Evan’s Tomb), colored by Diana Sousa (Key Role: Vox Machina Origins, Key Role: The Origin of the Mighty Nein), signed by Nate Piekos (stranger things, minor threat).
Issue 1 will launch in winter 2025, with cover art created by Magali Villanueve, Rebecca Pueblar, Jeremy Wilson, Nimit Malavia and Kyle Lambert, a designer and illustrator of key art for the Stranger Things series.
Dark Horse’s official description of Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: Rise of Hellfire reads as follows:
“Before the boys of Stranger Things faced real-life monsters, spell-throwing, sword-wielding and luck with dice shaped their lives. This crossover comic tells the story of Eddie Monson becoming the Hellfire Club The leader of the game, Flashback to the legendary campaign that fascinated him with Dungeons & Dragons, recruited Lucas, Dustin, and Mike, and got a glimpse into the fantasy world they conquered together.
Jody Houser added in the statement:
“When I saw Stranger Things Season 4, I knew the story of Eddie Manson and the Hellfire Club would be the perfect sequel to the Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons miniseries. Eric and I’m very familiar with how D&D builds friendships and storytellers, and it’s great to explore Hawkins through this lens.
Dark Horse describes the story as a “heartfelt send-off” for Eddie, who quickly became one of the most beloved Stranger Things characters thanks to his guitar playing of the iconic scene from Metallica’s Puppet Master, And really deep connections.
