Director, it’s no secret Ridley Scott Hope he can direct the sequel blade runner and alien. But, all these years later, he’s still talking about it, and he clearly regrets not taking on these projects.

during an interview Vanity Fair on his upcoming sequel Gladiator IIFilmmaker talks about his career and the film industry, and he doesn’t think he’ll be directing a sequel alien and blade runner as a missed opportunity.

Scott said: “I was slow on the starting gate. I mean, I should do a sequel alien and arrive blade runner. You have changed over the years. At that point I didn’t want to go through it again. So Jim Cameron and David Fincher joined Alien.

Scott later said that producers and studios like Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox didn’t really give him any choice in what happened in the sequel.

“I’m the author of two works,” he explained. “Most directors in Hollywood — certainly, say, at my level — wouldn’t give up on these things.

“But ‘Alien’ was my second movie, so I didn’t have much choice. ‘Blade Runner’ was my third movie. So, I had no choice because I had very strong partners. It was Kind of like ‘Welcome to Hollywood.

Regarding the way the sequel was being handled, Scott said “No one ever told me or asked me, so you can imagine I was unhappy.”

Regardless, both Alien and Blade Runner 2049 ended up being great movies! The filmmakers who made these movies did a great job and they might have turned out very differently had Scott directed them.

While Scott wasn’t happy that he didn’t direct these movies, I think fans were happy with how they turned out. I’m happy with the fact that Scott didn’t direct them.
