Thanks to site-wide changes made Thursday, “Ask Me Anything” posts (or AMAs) on Reddit may feel more like special events than standard posts with a twist. While none of these updates reflect a complete overhaul, they do put new emphasis on the popular Q&A session.
Starting Thursday, the new AMA tab will offer special options, such as the ability to schedule and promote an AMA within a single post. The creator of a post can also add up to five co-moderators, whose answers will be marked in the comments section. When the AMA ends, the host can also add a closing statement that includes a closing statement, a link, or a final promotional message.
For regular site users, a new RSVP option allows them to receive notifications so they don’t miss any. Once the AMA goes live, a new tab will allow readers to filter comments based on questions that have or have not been answered by the host. In addition, scheduled AMAs will get a label indicating whether they are coming soon, already live, or passed.

Like many people, I always feel the need to be prepared whenever Reddit announces something new. But these tweaks to the site’s Q&A section feel like real improvements. Since I forgot, I missed the AMA I really wanted to attend and I’m looking forward to being reminded.
