PlayStation VR 2 hasn’t been a huge hit among PS5 owners, and Sony reportedly paused production earlier this year until current stock is depleted. The $200 discount during the recent PlayStation back-to-school sale certainly helped, but the recently released PSVR 2 PC adapter may provide an even bigger boost. The PSVR 2 PC Adapter adds support for gaming PCs and thousands of SteamVR games without the need for a PS5 console. Finding inventory is a huge challenge, but it Currently on sale at Best Buy (Restocks sold out quickly).

Getting the headset to work with your PC seems fairly simple, as you just need to connect the headset to your PC using the PSVR 2 PC Adapter, then download the PSVR 2 and SteamVR apps.
You may miss some features (like eye tracking and adaptive triggers), but 4K visuals, 3D audio, and a ton of other features are still supported on PC. Check out the trailer above to learn more about what PlayStation VR 2 will do on PC.
When it comes to a PlayStation 5, the PSVR 2 is one of the most expensive consumer VR headsets. However, as a PC VR headset, the headset falls within the budget range compared to the Valve Index and HTC Vive. The Valve Index starts at $749 with controllers ($499 for headsets only), while the HTC Vive Pro 2 starts at $799 (headsets only). Even with Amazon’s $200 discount, the HTC Vive XR Elite still costs $899.
Of course, you’ll still need a gaming PC with the right specs, so the PSVR 2 still isn’t as affordable or streamlined as the Meta Quest 3, the most popular virtual reality headset on the market. Dollar.
That said, the vast new library of SteamVR games makes Sony’s headset a more versatile choice in the VR space. If the release of the PSVR 2 PC adapter piques your interest, you’ll find the PSVR 2 headset at a discount. Amazon has the PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for $520 (originally $600) and the base package for $529 (originally $550). These deals pale in comparison to recent $200 discounts, but are better than paying full price.
