
As Boom announced their new editor, one of the biggest jobs in the comics, it’s the following additional announcement on its editorial team.
Andy Schmidt Will join Boom! Studio as their new Editor-in-chiefstarting from April 7Th.
Andy has a long and extensive history in the comics industry, working as an editor from Marvel the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy Before making a blockbuster. He was a senior editor at IDW Publishing, where he was hailed for the successful relaunch of the comics by licensed franchise Transformers, GI Joe and Star Trek. Andy spent two years at HasbroTh The world’s largest entertainment licensing company, serving as director of IP development and brand design. Throughout his career, Andy also founded comics experience, creating and teaching courses to train the next generation of comic creators, while also running his own publishing and printing business. Andy is here! Have extensive experience, creativity and connection throughout the creative community. In his role, Andy will lead the editorial team to help develop and execute Boom! ‘s overall release strategy and provide guidance and vision for the creative output of every imprint of Boom. Andy will report to associate publisher Bryce Carlson.
Lily Kesinger Joined prosperity! Studio located edit. With ten years of editorial experience, Lily brought her prosperity! Various abilities and skills from various schools. Lily began her career with the Young Reader Books of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where she was a key contributor to the development and launch of HMH’s graphic novel Brand Etch. During this time, she also sat on the Graphic Novel Committee of the Children’s Books Council. She then worked for Clarion Books, a division of HarperCollins, where she honed her editorial skills in acclaimed novels and graphic novels. We are so happy to have her talents and expertise in Boom! Lily will report to editor-in-chief Andy Schmidt.
Olivia Dontsov Joined prosperity! Studio as their new Executive Edit. Olivia is from Astra Publishing House in New York where she manages projects and quality control in the children and adult departments. During Astra, Olivia played a role in developing the critical process of keeping books on schedule, on time and on budget. She works across departments and disciplines and she has a keen understanding of the needs and expectations of various departments that help create books. Her passion for our industry is evident from the work she does The Bronx is readingincluding panels and reading groups. Olivia brings deep experience and skills to one of the most important roles in the publishing process, and the studio is pleased to welcome her on board. Olivia will report to Operations Director Stephanie Lazarski.

Josh Hayes Promoted to Vice President, Consumer and Sales Marketing. Josh joins the boom! In January 2022, and quickly established its preferred resource for retail and distribution partners. The relationship Josh has built during his 15 years of working at a diamond distributor, is a well-known and highly respected member of the publishing community. His expertise guides prosperity! Through a period of huge changes in the industry, helping BOOM grow directly into the consumer business. Recently, Josh played a key role in the transition to the PRH sales team. Josh will be in charge of Boom in his new role! The sales support, marketing and publicity team to ensure every book has a chance to shine and succeed. Josh continues to report to publisher Michael Kelly.
Ash Troub Promoted to Senior Assistant for Special Projects. Ash joins the boom! Studios’ team in mid-2021 focuses on direct-to-consumer support. Over the past four years, she has entered the management of Boom! The leading role of online stores has improved customer service traffic for crowdfunding projects, became a key contributor to on-site events, and undertakes metadata management in the digital space. Ash has been Boom for the past year! The integration into PRH is an important collaborator. Prosperity! It’s great to expand her role in crowdfunding and improve the metadata process in which they can continue to interact with external partners. Ash will report to Josh Hayes, vice president of consumer and sales marketing.
last but not least, Austin does Promoted to Partner, sales Focus on foreign rights. After joining Boom! As a sales assistant in January 2023, Austin immediately surpassed his role and played a major role in Boom and its customer service team. Austin will address all aspects of foreign rights in his new role, in which his dedication to detail and process management will be key areas. Austin will report to Josh Hayes, vice president of consumer and sales marketing.
