Channing Tatum still really wants one Strategy movie, and he’s willing to do (seriously) anything to make that happen.
Spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine.
Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street actor Channing Tatum has been desperately trying to make a Gambit movie for years. After all, he was a fan-favorite X-Men character, and Tatum was very fond of the Gambler, but that love never materialized. Until recently, anyway, that was it. While he’s not quite done with his solo work yet, he’s doing quite well as Gambit himself in the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool and Wolverine. He’s joined by some other familiar faces like Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Wesley Snipes as Blade, but this is the first time they’ve returned to their roles in years, and Tatum This is my first time playing this role.

As it turns out, Tatum recently shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon his efforts to create a personal Gambit movie. “We were getting ready to make this movie, and then Fox got acquired by Disney,” Tatum said of the Gambit film, which almost preceded the acquisition. He then went on to share how Marvel Universe boss Kevin Feige is a big fan of Gambit , but isn’t yet sure how to fit him into the cinematic universe. “He literally said, ‘I like Gambit. I just don’t know what to do right now. I don’t know what to do. [Gambit] Fits what we’re doing. So it takes me a while to figure it out.

There’s no evidence yet that a Gambit movie might happen, and Feige may want to make an X-Men movie before then, but Tatum did say “Now we’ve cracked some of the code. Hopefully.” I’d kill kittens…I’d do a lot of horrible things to make a “Ghost Movie.” Obviously, when it comes to getting started, don’t mess with Tatum.
Deadpool and Wolverine itself is doing very well, hitting $1 billion at the global box office over the weekend, which I’m sure Feige and other executives are very happy about, considering the MCU’s recent missteps.
