After Dick Harper lost his job at Globodyne in the Enron-style collapse, he and his wife Jane turned to crime to cope with the massive debt they now faced. Dick and Jane are two smart people who are actually very good at robberies and even enjoy robberies, but they change their minds when they are reminded that committing crimes can harm innocent people. When the couple heard that Globodyne owner Jack McCallister had actually defrauded the company, they plotted revenge.

Movie review:
- Reno: **A guide on how to survive unemployment.
- I thought I’d seen almost all of Jim Carrey’s movies, but then I found out that wasn’t the case, so I decided to start with this one. It’s a remake of the 1970s movie, or you could say the second screen adaptation of the novel of the same name. I haven’t seen the other version, but I must admit I enjoyed it a lot. It’s not the greatest comedy I’ve ever seen, but it’s still great and the acting is great, especially Jim Carrey’s.
- The storyline is simple, a couple loses their jobs and is having a hard time finding another job. They began to lose one thing at a time, losing everything that belonged to them. In the end, the house was the last thing they wanted to lose. So they plan to do something very serious to address their situation, and it seems to work well, but for how long. This is then followed by their overall plan for a permanent solution and how they will achieve it, leading to a conclusion.
- The movie was too fast and felt too short or like a TV episode. It’s meant to make us feel like we have more, but with a very happy ending. The story may feel silly, but the comedy is good. If you like Jim Carrey and his iconic jokes, you’ll have a great time. Granted, I haven’t seen a good comedy that’s come out recently, so I was excited to see this one even though it’s ten years old. There’s no serious negative content like drugs, sex, or nudity, so I think it’s suitable for family viewing.
- _7/10_
- Andre Gonzalez: Interesting movie. Sadly, someone’s life was ruined. This is what they did. Jim Carey’s acting style is different.
