The Pixel Watch 3 looks to have a larger screen than the Watch 2 thanks to thinner bezels. Sharers of leaked marketing materials Android headlines It is recommended that the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 has 10% more screen than the Watch 2 in the same space.
The Pixel Watch 3 can also have a brighter display—up to 2,000 nits, twice the peak brightness of the Pixel 2—and charge 20 percent faster. If the spec sheet is legit, it confirms a previously leaked 45mm watch and states that both sizes will have up to 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display enabled, and up to 24 hours of battery life with the new saver enabled. In battery mode, the battery life will be up to 36 hours.
Marketing materials also mention new fitness features, including the ability to create custom runs and “audio and haptic cues” that tell you when to sprint, cool down or maintain pace. In addition, the new Fitbit Morning Briefing will provide a summary of health and fitness metrics to help you plan your exercise. These new features may end up coming to older Pixel Watches, something Google has done in the past.
Other changes revealed in the leak include support for Offline Google Maps, and the ability to view real-time updates from Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell through the Google Home app. You also appear to be able to easily switch between photos and videos when controlling your Pixel phone’s camera app from your watch. Previous leaks suggested that the Pixel Watch 3 would get Ultra-Wideband support for better location tracking, but marketing materials didn’t mention this.
