Children’s picture book by Japanese adventurer Ogita Yasunaga and illustrator Nana Inoue Pihotek: Hokkyoku o Kaze to Aruku or Pihotek: A walk in the Arctic) inspired an animated short film. Animehon, a new animation initiative Kodanshareleased a 30-second animated commercial version and a 2-minute director’s cut version on September 6.
The short film is the third project in the Animehon program, which is based on Kodanshapicture book (Ehon Japanese).

Ogita Yasunaga writes a poetic account of Arctic walks based on his relationships with Inuit friends and 20 years of solo exploration. He observes animals in their natural habitat and falls asleep with a sense of oneness with nature, influenced by the wind. Then, when a new dawn arrives with the energy of the world, he sets out again. An essay at the back of the book discusses the seriousness of climate change.
Kazuhiro Hochi (The series is directed by Rita and Machin, Shōnen Lu GO! go! goma sauce) directed the short film, and Hafuka Yuri (Not just a couple, but not lovers, Maebashi Witch, Remaining biological events) composed the music. fan works Animated short film.
