Guillermo del Toro Currently working on his long-awaited project Frankenstein The movie is being filmed in Edinburgh. Photos and footage have emerged from the set, including one that offers a first look Oscar Isaac As Victor Frankenstein.
Del Toro, who is writing, directing and producing the film, previously said of the project: “I’ve been wanting to make this movie for 50 years, ever since I saw the first Frankenstein.
“I had an epiphany that this was basically a movie that required a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I wouldn’t have been able to do 10 years ago. Now I’m brave enough or crazy or whatever, and we’re going to figure it out.
The director also explained that he was indeed terrified of making the film: “Frankenstein To me, it’s the culmination of it all, and part of me wants to make a version of it, but part of me has been afraid to make it for over 25 years.
“I dreamed that I could do the greatest things Frankenstein Ever, but if you succeed, you succeed. Whether it’s great or not, it’s done. You can’t dream about it anymore. This is the tragedy of a filmmaker.
“You can dream about something, but once you achieve it, you’ve succeeded. That’s it. You get a 10 or you get a 6.5, but you’ve been to the Olympics and you’re judged.
producer J. Miles Dyer went on to say it would be a “deeply emotional” film, adding: “In the last few films, of course Nightmare Alley and then with pinocchiowe’ve got the whole father-son relationship sorted out. Guillermo and I both lost our fathers in the past few years.
“When you have a strong father figure, it’s a big part of our lives. This version of Frankenstein Very much along this thematic path. So, I feel like this is the third film in the Guillermo Father trilogy. It’s exciting and when you read the script it’s very exciting and, of course, very iconic.
