DSTLRY announced forge aheadthe writer’s new survival series stephanie phillips and artist Mark Laming. The book, which debuted in February, is pitched as a crossover between the two lord of the flies and Yellow shirt armytells the story of several children trapped on an 18th-century ship.
Set in a historical re-enactment of an 18th-century schooner, ENDEAVOR sees a group of children from elite families invited on a luxury leisure cruise equipped with modern amenities. Seven children are trapped on a boat and adrift at sea when unexpected chaos breaks out. As supplies dwindle and the children struggle against the elements, a brutal struggle for survival emerges as factions (and double crosses) develop.
Phillips pointed out, “forge ahead It blends the suspense of a survivalist classic with reflections on the cultural norms of modern society. Mark and I really enjoyed building this world of dangerous alliances and suspense.
Laming added: “The original Royal Navy forge ahead The 1768 voyage did not end well, and the results this time do not look so promising either! I’m on pins and needles awaiting Stephanie’s next script, and bringing this vision to life is both stressful and gratifying. forge ahead It’s a super teachable thriller that’s also a scary story and a joy to draw.”
The comic is Ramin’s first with DSTLRY and Phillips’ second with the publisher. Lifea science fiction action series created by Brian Azzarello and Lee Loveridge (The third issue will be released on November 13.) The two previously collaborated on 2021 Good Death Comics special Octobriana and Love: 50th Anniversary Edition.
