The Emmy Award-winning actor was recently asked if the film could get a wide release soon, given its “incredible popularity” following last year’s screening at the Fantastic Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

Toxic AvengerBased on the original 1984 beloved film, it tells the story of Dinklage’s Winston Gooze, a janitor whose employer refuses to pay for treatment for his terminal illness. But after robbing a company, Winston becomes immersed in toxic waste and devotes himself to righting society’s wrongs as the mutant hero the Toxic Avenger.
After its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September 2023, the horror comedy has received a 92% score from 25 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but no release date has been set yet.
The reboot also stars Jacob Tremblay, Tyler Page, Elijah Wood and Kevin Bacon.
Earlier this year, it was also announced that Matt Bors and Fred Harper were teaming up for a new film Toxic Avenger Comics from independent publisher AHOY Comics. The first of a five-issue comic series will be published on October 9.
