It’s a great good vs. evil story, and if the creative team adapts the source material correctly, it could make for a great series.
King wrote the book early in the pandemic when he asked himself, “What can you write about that makes you happy?”
He said: As if my imagination had been waiting for the question to be asked, I saw a huge deserted city – desolate but vibrant. I saw empty streets, haunted buildings, and a gargoyle head lying in the street.
“I saw smashed statues (I didn’t know it, but I eventually found them). I saw a huge palace with glass towers that reached into the sky. These images unleashed the story I wanted to tell.
Peter Rice will serve as executive producers alongside Greengrass, Wyman and King. Greengrass may serve as director.
