The live-action Halo series has been canceled on Paramount+ after two seasons. The show is adapted from the popular Xbox video game series and will premiere in 2022 with a second season airing from February to March 2024. Partners and staff, including showrunners and executive producers, expressed their gratitude to David Weiner and star Pablo Schreiber, who plays Master Chief.
Despite the cancellation, Xbox, Amblin TV and 343 Industries still plan to purchase the series at other outlets. 343 Industries expressed its gratitude to fans of the show and promised to expand the Halo universe in other ways.
The cast of the series includes Natasha McElhone, Jane Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Karzak, Oliver Gray, Yellin Ha, Ben Terry Carew, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy and Danny Sapani. The story is set in the 26th century and focuses on the war between humans and the Covenant, an alliance of alien races with a common religious fanaticism. The protagonist is Master Chief John-117, a genetically enhanced super soldier.
