Oni Press is working together Ravi Teixeira ((A quick and easy guide) Brand new graphic novel Paradise, West Virginiaa story about facing inner and outer demons while dealing with grief and healing.
The story is described as an emotional letter when you find love when you are rejected, telling Lamont, who adapts to their new life in the town in the face of growing darkness. The darkness appears in the form of a mysterious beast, who throws Lamont’s life into chaos as they try to find comfort.
When Lamont arrives at Appalachian town paradise in West Virginia, its lush landscape conflicts with the noisy and anxiety that defines his inner life. Aunt Stoke lived there, and learning the art of foraging and tea from his species should be idyllic, even paradise. But in the shadow of the woods of heaven, Lamont sees a dark, clumsy figure with long teeth and pierced red eyes. No one else seemed to see the beast. . . Not his aunt, nor a handsome cowboy, his soft voice evokes the comfort aroma of Latoya beer. The pursuit of escape from its hunger feels impossible, and Lamont will have to face the darkness of the forest even greater.
