So, how many people really remember Den of Thieves Starting in 2018? Not just seen it, but this is a real movie. I almost didn’t, I saw it in the theater and wrote a review. The first film felt like an homage to McMahon. hot but there is one the usual suspects Like a twist, it feels like a lot of this Gerard Butler Movies released regularly. And then, somehow, all these years later, a sequel came along. Now it’s a franchise, and it has two stars – Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Starring the criminal mastermind and Donnie Wilson, who also appeared in the first film.
“Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” Picked directly from the first film’s ending, Downey escapes and outsmarts Butler’s detective Nick O’Brien, who is determined to find him, no matter where in the world Downey is. When a big diamond robbery occurs in Europe that fits Downey’s way of doing things, things move in Nick’s direction, and the unlucky Nick uses whatever means necessary to get there and catch him. Meanwhile, Downey is in Nice, France, working with a very professional man as he attempts to break into a safe at the World’s Central Diamond Market, a feat thought to be impossible. There’s one problem no one considers: A diamond that Downey’s team stole earlier belongs to the Mafia, and they want it back.
Unlike the first film, this one doesn’t try too hard to feel like or imitate another old movie. The first film’s Los Angeles setting, with a gang of cops and robbers trying to outwit each other, felt too much like “The Heat,” with a weaker script and characters. Where that world expands into the entire world, it’s just about Nick and Downey, and it’s very much centered around this new universe or any character that you really care about and want to watch. Downey and his crew keep track of how Ness operates, what he needs, and who on his team needs to do what to pull off a successful heist. Jackson Jr. plays Donnie, known in Europe as Jean Jaques in the movie, and he’s not only extremely likable but also easy to relate to. He’s one of the most down to earth movie thieves I’ve seen in a long time. This is indeed his film; he is the protagonist of the story. His changing relationship with Nick becomes very interesting as they tap into the cop buddy dynamic 48 hours in their interactions with each other. Butler and Jackson Jr.’s on-screen collaboration is wonderful.
I don’t want to say the other actors were bad or memorable because I don’t focus on the characters. While we care about the stars, they become their characters well. What surprised me was how well the movie looked and directed. Crane shots or maybe drones, helicopter shots (maybe drones), great B-roll shots of European scenes. The film attracted James Bond and job in italy The energy of this movie. The driving scenes are also very well done, with the film’s limited car chases filled with tense moments. I’m really impressed Christian Gudgastis directing the film. I’m so impressed, I don’t know why they didn’t screen this for critics. It’s a pretty good movie as a heist movie, with the big heist taking up most of the second half of the movie. I guess they were worried that the low Rotten Tomatoes score would hurt its opening weekend, since the first film had really bad scores. But come on, not all of us are going to hate this type of movie. This movie does lean a bit on the “dad movie” side, but where most awards bait and family films are a staple in theaters, a movie about stealing diamonds, escaping in a fast car, and shooting big guns with Italian mafia guys is on top – you guys There is everything to eat here.
(PS: After “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” was officially released in theaters, I received a free ticket to watch and review)
