In November 1996, Bandai launched the popular digital pet Tamagotchi. Although not as popular as they once were, Tamagotchis still attract a following. As the 30th anniversary of its establishment approaches, franchise In partnership with Bandai’s Tamashii and Chogokin brands, a transformable electronic pet toy has been launched.
Tamashii Nations announced the transformable Chogokin Tamagotchi robot toy on November 1, along with a video showing off its gimmick. Hidden inside the robot is the first gold-chrome takuma song version to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Chogokin’s birth. The playset is available for pre-order on November 1 and will go on sale next May. The toy is displayed in Tokyo Harajuku Plaza (commonly known as Haramon) is open from November 2nd to November 28th.
