Following yesterday’s announcement of Helldiver 2’s “biggest update yet” and “Free Upgrade”, there’s a lot to be excited about ahead of August 6th. Did something strange – pick a name for the Terminide baby they were going to conceive.
If you missed the update’s release, you can check out what’s included here – it should be music to your ears, especially if you’ve been craving a new difficulty challenge or simply new forms of enemies. Meanwhile, if you’ve always thought the game needed more of a Death Stranding -style twist, you’re in luck, too.

You see, one of the new mission types outlined in the trailer below has you tasked with picking up a small test tube backpack and successfully transporting it to an extraction point. The problem is that it contains terminal larvae, which make your job much harder by attracting swarms of protective bugs that attack you with their cries.
It’s also cute, depending on how you feel about things that look a bit like you’d have to go to the hospital if they bit your leg. So, naturally, while some see this as another good time to question whether Super-Earth is actually the bad guy, others are already coming up with names for their new companions and asking Arrow to add a proper sling, This way they can carry it just like a human baby.

Names picked out in a Reddit thread so far include Steeve and/or Steevie, spelled with two E’s since it’s 2024, I guess, and Mike and Joe quadruple agents. To be fair, given how a Terminator grows, it’s unlikely to be bullied once it reaches puberty, so let them do the cooking.
Sadly, it seems that for every good dad and mom, there’s also likely to be a coward who makes a fuss about not being part of the team that has to carry the little one. To be honest, people are already trying to think about what kind of equipment the designated Terminid aircraft carrier should be equipped from a tactical point of view.
The good thing is, whether you need to think about this or come up with a name that your terminal kid will inevitably grow up thinking is a bit lame, the current primary command means you can do it while trying to kill as many bugs as possible to this point as far as possible.
