Even though the holidays have passed, the joy it brings remains.
With the help of toys in the north, the Central Region Royal Canadian Cavalry Police (RCMP) successfully delivered more than 28,000 toys in the remote northern part of Canada, sharing holiday cheer and breaking their historical donation records.
Under the Arctic Charity Toys (CTA), under the leadership of the Canadian Toys Association (CTA), toys have been delivered to Canadian children in need for more than a decade, celebrating its 14th anniversary in 2024. In December, at Toronto’s Thomson Terminal, ready to fly out to children in northern Canada, including northern Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut.
Airlines like Gadwin, Arctic Airlines and the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) safely ship the toys to their destinations so they can reach children’s hands in time during the holidays. RCMP members have successfully spread joy in Canada, providing the community with toys worth more than $615,000, over $559,000 last year.
“Every toy passed on represents the joyful moment for every child and brings magic to every child,” said Sargent Angelique Dignard. “Last year, we were able to For the first time offering a gift from coast to coast, this year, we have been our largest toy donation to date. I am proud of everyone involved and representing the community and thank you for your generosity and hard work.”
The RCMP and Toys in the North provide heartfelt hearts to their partners and dedicated organizations, including CTA, Thomson Terminals Limited, North Star Air, Gardewine and RCAF, as well as volunteers who helped achieve this amazing feat.
