The first few weeks of First Descendant have been a bit chaotic, mostly due to the game’s over-the-top monetization plan and the in-game grinding required to unlock various characters, craft weapons, and obtain the gear needed for higher-level content.
This is a live-service game, though, and if there’s one thing players love, it’s optimizing their runs to be as efficient as possible and making farming less annoying. Some of these may be benign; Rely on unbalanced systems and combinations instead of exploiting them.
Over the past few days, however, the community has shifted from the former to the latter.

Even before players discovered that they could AFK First Descendant’s missions and still get rewards, some smart people devised a killer combo of Tamer and Gley that, if done correctly, could allow you to have unlimited magazine builds .
The way Nexon reacted to this discovery was a little unusual. Rather than nerfing it, the developers kept it in patch 1.0.2. In fact, Nexon points out that other more powerful combos and builds do exist in the game, leaving it up to players to figure out what they are. This attitude creates a sense among players that Nexon is okay with these types of player discoveries, no matter how broken they are.
So when something else is discovered a few days later, players will also hope it won’t be affected. We’re talking about a farming method that came to be known as “Warby running.” This particular farming exploit relies on replaying the Vulgus strategic outpost in Fortress, mostly due to a bug that caused enemies to spawn infinitely.
The most effective method requires the damage dealer Valby, hence the name. This leads to players scrambling to unlock characters so they can have fun. The farm has been likened to Destiny’s infamous loot cave because of the sheer amount of rewards you can earn in such a short amount of time.
When Nexon first became aware of this farming method, the developer responded with a statement from director Minseok Joo that the game’s upcoming patch (version 1.0.4) would change other farming points in the game so that they can work as before Frequent rewards are issued for fortress outposts in question.
Even though Nexon has been very generous with First Descendant’s recent patches so far, that’s a bit of a misnomer. It feels too good to be true. Of course, this was not actually the developer’s intention, it was just a translation error.
Nexon later clarified the initial statement on Twitter and updated the news post on the game’s official website. “We sincerely apologize for the confusion caused by misunderstandings during the translation of the original Korean text,” the developers wrote.
what is actually happening Yes, the Valby Run farm location will remain the same until patch 1.0.4 arrives sometime next week. Nexon will obviously not make every other outpost in the game equally efficient, quite the opposite – Fortress’ Vulgus strategic outpost will be in line with other outposts.
Game director Minseok Joo wrote: “In order to maintain our game and be loved by players long-term, we believe it is a mistake to simply stand aside and leave unbalanced content that provides biased rewards.”
“However, with Valby Run rapidly gaining popularity among our community, we assume that many players have already researched Valby to enjoy the newly discovered content. The current issue is clearly the result of our own error, but we don’t want to suddenly make it Delete. Because it has become a solid content of TFD.
“So, we would like to inform you that we are preparing a patch that will not completely prevent the Fortress Outpost issue and continue to allow players to enjoy the game as before. However, in the meantime, we will update the Fortress – Urgos Strategic Outpost , to match the efficiency of other agricultural sites.
That’s the point; you can enjoy Valby Run while you still can, because once 1.0.4 is released, the Vulgus strategic outpost won’t be the primary farming location it is today.
