Nintendo appears to have ditched its usual September directs and is holding two presentations tomorrow, all in one livestream.
You can pretty much expect two Nintendo Directs a year: June (non-E3 season) and September (probably for some financial reason), but either way, there’s almost always a September Direct. But Nintendo seems to be doing something a little different this year. It announced today that it will hold not one but two Nintendo Direct events tomorrow, August 27th. An Indie World launch event kicks off at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST, and as you can probably tell from the tin, it’s all about indie games. If you’re here expecting a new Mario game, I can’t help you.

Afterwards, there will be a partner showcase, which always includes announcements from third-party developers, so don’t go into it with any expectations for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom or Metroid Prime 4. The running time of the game is approximately 40 minutes in total. Of course, you might be wondering if there’s any chance a Nintendo Switch 2 will show up. What’s the answer? No! Nintendo said in a follow-up tweet that “none of these demos will mention the Nintendo Switch successor,” so what if you’re the kind of person who spams “Switch 2”? In live chat, consider re-evaluating who you are.

Beyond that, virtually anything could appear in any of these demos. Yes, it might even be Silksong, so keep your fingers crossed, but you’d think it might get a release date at a bigger event than a random August livestream.
You can watch the demo on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel or through its Twitch account.
