Ollie Kaplan: Is there a discussion about setting up comics before or after a TV series?
Nick Winn: No! Megan Brown and Li LiTwo excellent editors from Oni Press asked me to tell a story. There are no rules about legends or settings. The only argument is that it has to be related to Finn and Jake, so I really want to hone this. The setup will stay away from the main story and more of an alternative timeline with a large number of key features.

Kaplan: Fans of the animation show know that Finn’s sword plays a big role in the series. Can you tease Finn’s new sword fit? Adventure time Knowledge?
Winn: Finn’s best sword in the bud is a regular sword, which is the motivation for Finn to become an adventurer. The sword will not only become a weapon for the Finns, but will also play a key role in Finn’s friendship with Jack.
Kaplan: Trying to reproduce the sound and feeling of the animation, whether there are any challenges or surprises Adventure time Characters in comic format? How did you deal with world building and role development?
Winn: Season 1-3 Adventure time Must be my favorite plot. I wanted to make sure the comics matched the show’s fanatical but inner tone and found that a small interview with “The Distant Band of Adventure Times” helped me a lot. Pen WardThe song about Boys Escape from Home is crucial to writing this comic haha!

Kaplan: As an animator, how do you convert the energy and action of animation into static comic panels?
Winn: The animation has been transformed into my comics as energy. TV animations especially require you to clean quickly, so the poses, expressions and ink styles stem from my time on the cartoon network, allowing me to make the best drawings as quickly as possible.
Kaplan: Does writing a story back to the world of Ooo require research?
Winn: Yes! I mainly looked at the tone of the show and how the characters interact with each other. I want to make sure any new or previous characters feel they’ve lived in OOO for a long time. If it wasn’t for a long time, I at least wish they felt like they belonged to the lives of Finn and Jack.

Kaplan: What is the creative process like when creating a new comic?
Winn: Well, when I think of new things, I mainly brainstorm during a walk. Then I’ll run this idea by Megan and Jung! Then there is the difficult part. I had to have 12 rounds of boxing with myself to really sit down and write down the dance stuff, and once I lost due to the knockout, I had a script that was completely finished! Maybe somewhere in between.
Kaplan: Do you want to add anything else?
Winn: The comics look great. I’m so grateful to finish the first issue with Derek Ballard’s amazing shared story, but the comics like it Asian Simonyand Brenda Hickey Always doing amazing work on the next question! So many artists bring their games to the Adventure Age, I’m so excited that everyone can read! This will be algebra!
