Nintendo’s 2024 holiday console bundles are available now at Walmart, Target, and other major retailers. You have two options (so far), both including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a Switch Online membership. For the first time, the familiar Mario Kart bundle can be purchased with the Nintendo Switch OLED for $349. The Switch regular bundle has been released every holiday season for several years, and the price is once again $299.
Amazon doesn’t have a 2024 Switch holiday bundle yet, but considering the retailer isn’t releasing new Nintendo game releases, we’d be a little surprised if Amazon gets its hands on these value bundles. That said, you can buy the Mario Red Switch OLED for $55 off on Amazon. That brings the price of a holiday console last year down to $295. You can build your own bundle by pairing it with a discounted physical copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $345. The only thing missing is a Switch Online membership.
$349

The Nintendo Switch OLED Mario Kart Bundle comes with the console with white Joy-Con and matching white docking station, 12 months of Switch Online, and a coupon to claim Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from the Nintendo eShop. Compared to buying the console ($350), Mario Kart ($60), and Switch Online ($20) separately, you’ll get $80 worth of extra content.
In addition to a sharper, larger OLED screen, you’ll get a host of quality-of-life upgrades compared to the base model. The Switch OLED has a wider, better-designed base, an Ethernet port, improved speakers, and double the internal storage (64GB). Additionally, the built-in kickstand has been significantly improved in desktop mode.
You can purchase the bundle at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. Walmart’s bundle is priced $1 lower than other retailers.
$299

There’s also a $300 version of this bundle that includes the base model Switch, but the OLED version is well worth the extra $50 because the more advanced screen makes a huge difference when you’re playing games in handheld mode.
The regular Nintendo Switch bundle sells for $299 at Walmart and $300 at Target, Best Buy and GameStop.
As for the game codes included, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling Switch game of all time, although the disc does include previous console bundles. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was first released on Wii U and later ported to Switch, and has been greatly expanded over the years through a series of DLC tracks. If you’re buying the console bundle as a gift, we recommend spending $25 on the Booster Course Pass, as this adds 48 tracks to the game, effectively doubling its size.
A 12-month subscription to Switch Online also broadens your gaming options, as it lets you access online multiplayer games, save game saves online, and unlock a growing library of NES, SNES, and Game Boy games. While details about the Switch successor are expected to be revealed next year, there are still plenty of exciting games coming to the current Switch console throughout the remainder of 2024 and into next year.
If you’re interested in the smaller, portable Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo will release a new Hyrule version of the handheld console on September 26 alongside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Switch Lite. It doesn’t come with the game, but you’ll get a 12-month membership to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which gives you access to even more retro Nintendo games.
