I was impressed. Newcomer D. Bradford Gambling“Skateboard action graphic novel novels or death, now coming out of the top rack, has scrolled into the comic scene and substance. I’m not sure what I’m going to get, but the action comedy about saving the world skateboarders sounds fun. and books yes Super fun, but it’s much more satisfying than I expected.
Chopped or dead In the sleepy suburban town of World Claris Capital (the world’s skating capital), there is an iconic set of child characters, clumsy glasses, cool Squee, talented Sam Aka Noob and Hot Head Head Head Head Head. We meet them when they assemble crew members and decide how to claim territory on their own.
They (mainly Sam) tried to “upgrade” through a series of challenges, and Scott’s pilgrimage style level scores appeared above their heads. They also attracted a review from a shopping mall security guard known as the Law. And they have a strong desire for snacks, including preferences of dongles (chocolate snack cake), Croms (a type of fries) and Spüz (Neon Green Soda).
Things escalate quickly and keep getting weirder. Before they knew it, the newly cast crew was skatering with the Death Circus, a series of Goths, a rival skating gang with Zany Superpathers and more.
The book is usually as joy as the runaway: a security guard speaks to another, as if they are going to participate in a military battle, an inexplicable fear of animals evokes “Tony Hawke” (no relation to Real Madrid, no relation to copyright), a subtle way the character relates to in escalating adventures.
Overall, gambling brings an understanding, blinking talent to each panel, greatly expanding the comedy. He also did a great job of inserting minor details into important plots and rewards. I think that detailing the plot is a damaging experience.
I kept asking myself, how is a graphic novel chopped? The experience of reading is like watching an animation series. It is quirky, quirky and vibrant, with strong iconic shapes and memorable characters in the artwork that seem to actually vibrate on the page. Gambling doesn’t pop up action scenes on action scenes that are full of low-risk and high-risk stunts and are close to the lapse-will feel that will be in the still image.
It’s not just an art of motivation. Dialogue and narrative texts with wit, colorful lang languages and products reminiscent of the 90s (but uniquely made for this story). Toast.
It’s a year-round book that never talks to readers, provides enough character growth and plot to feel like epic legends and offers all of this in a fashion, self-aware and delicious package. I spent most of this book messing around with the real Glee. Such a good comedy is difficult!
All in all: Graphic novels may be a serious business, but this book is also very interesting, and gambling is a serious talent. Run (don’t walk) or slide past your nearest comic outlet and get you a copy of the fragment or death!
